Danbury's local dumpster company
Hatcity Dumpster Rentals runs out of a yard at 243-247 Federal Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804 - in the Town of Brookfield, on Federal Rd (US-202), just north of Danbury. Locally owned and operated, with one simple goal: make waste removal in Danbury fast, affordable and hassle-free. Clean dumpsters, each one inspected before delivery. One flat-rate price with no hidden fees or fuel surcharges. Experienced local drivers. A local person on the line, not a national call center.
Danbury had 86,518 people at the 2020 Census, Brookfield 17,528 and Fairfield County 957,419. Homeowners call about garage and attic cleanouts, remodels, roofs and storm cleanup; property managers turn over apartments; contractors work new builds and renovations from Ridgefield and Redding up to New Milford and Kent. Knowing which of those a call is before the truck leaves the yard is most of the job - along with knowing that every Connecticut hauler registers each year in each town it works in, that most towns here do it through the regional authority HRRA, that Bethel and Monroe set their own container rules, that a Danbury street placement needs the City's say-so, and that state highway right-of-way is off limits to containers.
Whatever you are clearing - a garage or a whole house, a job site, a yard full of storm limbs or a rental you want emptied by a crew - the container exists for it. Call (475) 256-5131 and describe it in a sentence.

Pick your size
Weight and volume are separate limits. The material you are loading decides which one runs out first.

Why Danbury chooses us
Hatcity Dumpster Rentals is locally owned. The phone is answered by someone who knows the area - a tight drive in an older Danbury neighborhood, a job site off Federal Rd, a long gravel drive in New Milford.
Delivery, pickup, disposal within the weight limit and the rental period, explained up front. No hidden pickup, fuel or delivery fees. If your load looks like it will go over, we say so before the truck leaves the yard.
Call before noon for the best chance of same-day delivery. If it has to be tomorrow, we tell you before you book.
Careful placement on flat, solid ground, with protective boards on request. If a tight drive, an HOA rule or soft ground needs a different plan, we tell you before delivery.
Weight fills a container long before volume does. If a 10 yard is the honest answer for your concrete or shingles, that is what we will quote you.
Severe weather can bring down limbs and roofing in an afternoon. We tell you honestly when the container can be there, and the 15 and 20 yard sizes take most storm piles in one go.
Simple from start to finish
Most bookings take a few minutes.
One short conversation. We ask the address and the town - the rules follow the town the property is in - what you are clearing, whether a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard or a job site, what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
We recommend the right size, without upselling, so you do not pay for space you will not use or call for another pickup, and you get one clear flat-rate price that covers delivery, pickup, disposal within the weight limit and the standard rental period of up to 7 days. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size. If your town needs a permit or its own registration, we check its rules before booking.
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on flat, solid ground rather than the lawn, with protective boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear.
Keep debris level with or below the top rim and keep the problem items out - paints, solvents and automotive fluids, fuel, hazardous chemicals, batteries, electronics, propane tanks, tires, medical waste and asbestos. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call or text.
Call or text when it is full or the job is done and we schedule the pickup, often within 24 hours. The load goes to licensed disposal and recycling facilities serving Fairfield County, and whenever possible concrete, metal and wood are separated for recycling.

A two-minute call gets the size right, a straight answer on price and a delivery window.

Local knowledge
There is a difference between covering an area and knowing it. In Danbury, City Code § 36-116 says "any collector hauling solid waste generated by residential, business, commercial or other establishments in the City shall register annually with the City", and § 36-81 asks for City registration plates on each vehicle or container a collector uses. On a Danbury street, § 28-55 bars placing "any article, material or thing of any kind" on a street, sidewalk or public place so as to obstruct public travel without a permit from the City Engineer, and § 42-111(2) needs a Public Works permit for the temporary storage of equipment or construction materials in a City right-of-way. Neither section names dumpsters, and we found no dumpster-specific permit or fee. So the driveway comes first, and for a street placement we check the City's rules and the placement with you before booking. In Bethel, a construction container at a one- or two-family home needs a written permit from the Building Official (Code Ch. 52), and Monroe wants a Town licence plus a registration for each container (§§ 452-3, 452-8B); in both we check the Town's rules before booking, and in Southbury we check with the Town before booking. Connecticut law bars placing any obstruction within, under, upon or over a state highway "without the written permission of the commissioner" of Transportation (CGS § 13a-247), with fines of $2,000 to $5,000 for each offense and each day counted separately, so a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-84, US-7, US-202, CT-133 or any other state route.
Our service area page lists every community we cover, grouped by area, and each has its own page covering access, local character and what that town's own rules say about containers in the street and who may haul.

Connecticut makes every hauler register in each town it works in (CGS § 22a-220a(d)), wants loads that cannot drop or escape (§ 14-271), keeps covered electronic devices out of solid waste facilities (§ 22a-636) and lead-acid batteries out of municipal solid waste (§ 22a-256g), and bars obstructions in state highway right-of-way (§ 13a-247). Every town page quotes its own sections.

Typical dumpster rentals in Danbury range from $295 to $695, depending on the dumpster size, the type of debris, the delivery location and the length of the rental. Our pricing is flat-rate, with no hidden pickup, fuel or delivery fees, and you get one clear price before your dumpster is delivered. If a load runs over the included weight, the overage is billed at a per-ton rate we tell you up front. Call (475) 256-5131 for an exact price.
We offer same-day or next-day delivery throughout Danbury and nearby towns, when availability allows. Call before noon for the best chance of same-day service. The phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; we deliver and pick up Monday through Saturday and do not promise night or Sunday drop-offs.
On your driveway, we found no Danbury permit rule for a container. On a Danbury street, City Code § 28-55 bars placing "any article, material or thing of any kind" on a street, sidewalk or public place so as to obstruct public travel without a permit from the City Engineer, and § 42-111(2) needs a Public Works permit for the temporary storage of equipment or construction materials in a City right-of-way. Neither names dumpsters and we found no dumpster-specific permit or fee, so we check the City's rules and the placement with you before booking. The Danbury permit guide has the details.
Under our rules: paints, solvents and automotive fluids, fuel and fuel containers, hazardous chemicals, batteries, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks and pressurized cylinders, tires, medical waste and asbestos. Connecticut law also bars knowingly placing covered electronic devices in a solid waste facility (CGS § 22a-636) and putting used lead-acid batteries in mixed municipal solid waste (§ 22a-256g). If you are unsure, call us before tossing it in.
Our drivers place each container carefully, and protective boards can go under it on request. If a surface worries you - concrete, asphalt or pavers - ask for boards when you book.
Think about the project's scale and the material: a 10 yard for small cleanouts and bathroom remodels, a 15 for kitchens, flooring and garage cleanouts, a 20 for multi-room renovations and roofing, and a 30 or 40 for new construction, demolition and big commercial jobs. Count the job in pickup truck loads - about 3 for a 10 yard, up to about 12 for a 40. The size guide covers it; the phone call confirms it.
Danbury and 14 towns around it: Brookfield, Bethel, New Fairfield and Bridgewater; Newtown, Ridgefield, Redding and Monroe; and New Milford, Sherman, Roxbury, Southbury, Woodbury and Kent. Each has its own page with its own hauling and street rules.
Early. Same-day depends on availability, and a call before noon gives you the best chance. In Bethel and Monroe we check the Town's rules before booking, and in Southbury we check with the Town, which can take longer than a same-day window. A demolition brings asbestos notice rules, so check the timing with the Department of Public Health early.
