Construction Dumpster Rental across Greater Danbury
A job site does not make one kind of waste. Demolition comes out heavy - concrete, tile, brick, roofing - then framing and drywall come out light and bulky, then the finish phase is packaging and offcuts. We size each phase on its own: a 10 for small renovations or roofing tear-offs, a 15 for bathroom or kitchen remodels, a 20 for framing or drywall projects, a 30 for new home builds or large renovations, and a 40 for major construction or demolition jobs. If the project needs more than one container, we rotate them on a set schedule or on demand.
Building debris is where the town drop-offs stop. The town transfer stations are resident drop-offs, not a home for a big job's debris. Bethel's takes no construction debris; Newtown's bars commercial vehicles and does not take concrete, mortar, brick or block; Redding's is for Redding residents only, with no commercial dumping; Roxbury bars collectors from bringing demolition debris (§ 11-10(A)(6)); Southbury's permits are for residents only; and Woodbury turns away businesses from outside town. Ridgefield's own page says residential projects over four cubic yards "should be managed with an onsite dumpster rental at the job site". The Danbury permit guide covers the street questions.

Demolition, framing, roofing and finish
Our construction dumpsters take wood, drywall, plaster and lumber; roofing shingles and insulation; concrete, brick, stone and asphalt within the weight limit; metal scraps and wiring; and packaging materials and job-site trash. New home construction, commercial development, kitchen and bathroom remodels, roofing and re-roofing, concrete and asphalt removal, demolition and interior tear-outs, flooring and drywall installation, and landscaping and excavation cleanup all have a size.
Demolition is a state matter before it is a dumpster matter. Connecticut's Department of Public Health says "All facilities from sheds to commercial establishments are covered" by the state asbestos regulations, and its page notes that federal notice rules apply to renovations above set amounts and to "all demolitions, even when there is no asbestos present". Check the current timing with DPH before work starts. Asbestos never goes in our roll-offs. Paint, oil, fuel, chemicals, tires and asbestos never go in our roll-offs, and we ask what the building is before we quote a demo job.
Job-site placement across Greater Danbury
On a private lot we place where the driver can reach it and the crew can load it, on flat, solid ground with safe loading access, room for equipment and vehicles and as little disruption to pedestrians and traffic as possible, and we coordinate placement with your site manager. In Danbury, property owners and general contractors in charge of a construction site must furnish approved containers for construction litter, filled at the end of each workday (§ 36-24(c)). On a Danbury street, § 28-55 bars placing "any article, material or thing of any kind" on a street, sidewalk or public place so as to obstruct public travel without a permit from the City Engineer, and § 42-111(2) needs a Public Works permit for the temporary storage of equipment or construction materials in a City right-of-way. Neither section names dumpsters, and we found no dumpster-specific permit or fee. So the driveway comes first, and for a street placement we check the City's rules and the placement with you before booking. Connecticut law bars placing any obstruction within, under, upon or over a state highway "without the written permission of the commissioner" of Transportation (CGS § 13a-247), with fines of $2,000 to $5,000 for each offense and each day counted separately, so a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-84, US-7, US-202, CT-133 or any other state route. On the road, Connecticut requires every load to be built or loaded so none of it drops, sifts, leaks or escapes (CGS § 14-271(a)), and an open-top refuse container on a refuse truck of 5,000 lb or more has to be secured with a screen or other material with openings no bigger than two square inches (§ 14-271(c)).

Construction dumpster rental - the local specifics
Danbury writes construction-site containers into its code: "Property owners and general contractors in charge of a construction site are jointly and severally required to furnish approved containers for construction litter" (§ 36-24(c)). In Bethel, a construction container at a one- or two-family home needs a written permit from the Building Official for up to 30 days, renewable once (Code Ch. 52), and the Town's transfer station takes no construction debris. Newtown's transfer station bars commercial vehicles and does not take concrete, mortar, brick or block; Roxbury bars collectors from bringing demolition debris to its station (§ 11-10(A)(6)); and Ridgefield's station has a small container for residential projects but says larger ones "should be managed with an onsite dumpster rental at the job site". Who may haul from the site depends on the town: Bethel needs a written permit from the Building Official for a construction container at a one- or two-family home, for up to 30 days with one 30-day renewal (Code Ch. 52), and Monroe wants a yearly Town licence plus a registration for each container, with the company name and phone number in letters at least four inches high on every one (§§ 452-3, 452-8B). In both we check the Town's rules before booking. Southbury repealed its hauler sections in 2022, but its code still refers to a "municipally registered collector" (§ 8-73(a)), so we check with the Town before booking. Woodbury sets a Town licence plus a separate registration for each vehicle or container (§ 205-14), Brookfield has collectors register each year (§ 188-5), and the other towns follow the state registration rule through HRRA. Every town page quotes the section.

Not covered here? Call (475) 256-5131 and ask.
Do you do swap-outs?
Yes. Once the container is full we haul it and rotate in an empty one, on a set schedule or on demand, and long-term sites can set up custom pickup schedules from the start.
Can I mix concrete with other debris?
You can, in limited quantities, but it costs you. Concrete fills the weight allowance long before the box looks full, so heavy material such as concrete, dirt or roofing shingles is often best kept separate. A 10 for rubble alongside a bigger box for the rest is usually the more cost-effective plan.
Can you deliver to a site with no address yet?
Yes - give us the nearest cross streets and a site contact, and we coordinate delivery timing and placement with you or the site manager before the truck goes out.
Do I need a permit for a container on a job site?
On the lot itself, Bethel's Code Ch. 52 permit applies at one- and two-family homes, and Danbury requires approved containers for construction litter on construction sites (§ 36-24(c)). In a Danbury street, § 28-55 needs a City Engineer permit to place anything that obstructs public travel, and § 42-111(2) a Public Works permit for temporary storage of construction materials in the right-of-way. Demolition brings asbestos notice rules - check the timing with DPH. We flag all of it when you book.
Who is allowed to haul construction debris in my town?
A registered hauler: Connecticut makes every collector register each year in each town it collects in (CGS § 22a-220a(d)), through HRRA in its 14 member towns. Monroe and Woodbury add Town licences with a registration for each container or vehicle, and Southbury's rules have been unclear since 2022. In Monroe and Bethel we check the Town's rules before booking, and in Southbury we check with the Town.
